Futurama: It’s Back Baby!
Grab your dictionary folks, go to the ‘F’ section and add an entry titled: F*CKIN-A! Next to that include a short paragraph describing how Comedy Central, who paid some thirty million smackers in October for the license to re-run episodes of Futurama, has now just answered every fanboy’s prayers by commissioning 13 new episodes from the series creators.
Since the series was canceled by those jackasses at the Fox network there have been many rumors surrounding new material from the show’s creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen. Most have centered around the idea of a big screen Futurama movie or even the possibility of a series of ‘made for television’ movies. Very few dared to imagine the possibility of a new series… except apparently for David Bernath, senior VP of programming at Comedy Central:
“There is a deep and passionate fan base for this intelligent and very funny show that matches perfectly with our audience and it is great that we can offer them not just the existing library, but something they’ve never seen as well,”
Awe, You go girl!
The only bad news is that we’ll be waiting until 2008 to see the new episodes. Futurama now joins Family Guy and Greg the Bunny on the “Great Shows that those retarded ass clowns at Fox cut down before their prime, only so that they could have it shoved back in their faces when popular demand (or another network) brought said series back to life!” list… Now, if only we could be Firefly added to that list too!
